On April 25, 2024, Lois Irene (Bastian) Barton, a beloved 96-year-old woman from Johnstown, passed away. She was the daughter of Michael and Anna (Kehl) Bastian and was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, as well as her siblings, Florence and Charles.
Also on that day, Ella J. “Judy” Carroll, an 89-year-old woman from Chest Springs, passed away. Born in Glen Daniel, W.Va., she was the daughter of Dalton and Delila (Brooks) Claypool. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph L. Carroll, and her sons, David Martin “Duff” and Michael Lee.
On that same day, Stacy Elise Lasser, a brave 45-year-old woman from Hollidaysburg who fought liver cancer with courage until her passing on April 25th. She is survived by her loving parents Byron and Ronna (Schwartz) Lasser as well as uncles, aunts and other relatives.
Lastly on April 25th Shary Lee (Meredith) Weis passed away peacefully at the age of 60 in St Petersburg Florida after a short battle with cancer. She was born in Altoona to D Reid Meredith and Mary Lee (Pope) Meredith and graduated from Altoona Area High School before passing away surrounded by family and loved ones
