Nearly a dozen championship-winning motorcycles were stolen from Phoenix Racing Honda in Salisbury, North Carolina over the weekend following Round 13 of the Supercross season. A post on Instagram by Phoenix Racing expressed disappointment at the incident, stating that their race shop was broken into and 11 of their championship bikes were taken from the showroom. The post also urged the public in the Charlotte, NC area to be on the lookout for the stolen bikes. Surveillance footage shared in another Instagram post showed at least six individuals struggling to remove the bikes from their stands and pushing them out of the front doors, leaving behind debris and damage to the front door.
In related news, Phoenix Racing Honda announced the signing of Dylan Ferrandis to join the team in 2024, confirming long-standing rumors. The team currently fields bikes for Ferrandis in the 450 class and for Jace Owens, Cullin Park, and Kyle Peters in the 250 division. Despite missing the last four rounds due to injury, Ferrandis sits 12th in SuperMotocross points, while Kyle Peters is ranked the highest among Phoenix’s three 250 riders, currently in 21st place in SuperMotocross points and eighth in the 250 West division.
