Various common diseases can be transmitted to children through respiratory and fecal-oral routes. Respiratory diseases like influenza, measles, chickenpox, whooping cough, and diphtheria are spread through droplets from coughs and contaminated surfaces. On the other hand, fecal-oral route transmission can lead to diseases such as hand, foot and mouth disease, cholera, typhoid, rotavirus, and polio.
