Reba George, a former patient turned volunteer, is just one example of the dedicated service and support provided by the volunteer workforce at Lee Health. These volunteers can be found working in almost every department of the hospitals and offices throughout the health system and community-based locations, both in patient care and non-patient care areas. Their contributions make a significant impact on patients, visitors, and staff, enhancing their experiences.
Many of the volunteers at Lee Health are either patients themselves or family members of patients who have received care and want to give back to the community. Volunteering at Lee Health does not require a medical or nursing background; it only requires a desire to make a difference and help others.
