Outstanding Spring Sports Performers in Somerset County from April 14-20

The sports scene on Sunday was dominated by baseball and track and field, with some impressive performances. In the Gene Schultz Memorial Tournament, Bishop McCort emerged victorious over Conemaugh Township in a 5-0 championship game. Despite Zack Petree’s three hits for Conemaugh Township, the team was unable to keep up with Bishop McCort’s strong play.

Meanwhile, in softball, Meyersdale cruised to an 18-3 victory over Blacklick Valley. Jessica Daughton and Marcella Dupre led the way with three hits and three RBIs each, while Laurel Daniels, Amber Long, Morgan Walters, Izabella Donaldson, and Zoe Hetz also contributed to the offensive outburst.

In track and field action against Everett, Berlin Brothersvalley had a mixed day. The girls emerged victorious with a 98-50 win, while the boys fell 119-30. Several athletes from Berlin had standout performances, including Mikaela Glessner, Deborah Bozovich, Zoraeja Miller, Lexi Fairman, Lexi Foor
