As businesses face unprecedented challenges in maintaining growth and resilience, it is crucial for organizations to seize every opportunity for growth and adaptation. This is according to Milton Rivera, VP of Global Business Development at Amex GBT, who spoke at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting at Davos in January.
According to a report by Accenture, the pace of change for businesses is expected to accelerate in 2024. In such uncertain times, the focus on external interactions through business travel is evolving, with a new emphasis on the importance of internal meetings in navigating disruption and promoting organizational growth.
Amex GBT’s latest data shows a projected significant growth in attendee numbers for internal meetings in 2024, with 48% of respondents expecting an increase throughout the year. This suggests that organizations are recognizing the value of face-to-face interactions between colleagues.
A recent report series by Amex GBT with Harvard Business Review titled “Investing in Travel to Drive Business Growth: A Strategy for Thriving in Disruption” highlights the tangible business value derived from face-to-face meetings within organizations. 71% of respondents stated that their organizations benefit significantly from in-person meetings with colleagues, emphasizing the importance of nurturing enduring relationships through face-to-face interactions.
