Bill Mack, a Social Studies Instructor at the Schuylkill Technology Center North Campus, was recently honored by the Hawk Mountain Council BSA as the 2024 Elbert K. Fretwell Educator of the Year. The award was presented to him at a breakfast held at the STC North Campus on April 26, 2024.
Shannon Brennan, STC Director, praised Mr. Mack for his exceptional teaching skills and ability to inspire leadership in his students. With sixteen years of teaching experience, he has made a significant impact on the North Schuylkill School District and the Schuylkill Technology Center.
Mr. Mack holds an impressive educational background, with a bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University and a master’s degree from Bloomsburg University. He is currently working towards his Principal’s Certification at Alvernia University. His dedication to community service is evident through his various leadership roles within the community. He has held positions such as District President and District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler for the Pennsylvania Elks Association, as well as leadership roles in the Protective Order of Elks, Number 1533. He also serves as the STC SkillsUSA Advisor.
In addition to being an educator and community leader, Mr. Mack is also actively involved in various organizations and events related to social studies education. He has served as a member of several committees focused on promoting social studies education within the district and beyond.
