Yamaha Motor Company has announced a new partnership with Lola Cars to compete in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship from Season 11. The iconic motorsport brand, known for its numerous championship wins, will work with Yamaha to develop and supply a powertrain for the all-electric, single-seater race series starting in the 2024/25 season. This partnership will introduce an evolution of the current GEN3 race car.
Lola Cars Motorsport Director Mark Preston expressed excitement about returning to Formula E and highlighted the opportunity for technological development. Lola Cars has a history of success in chassis and aerodynamic design, and this project will focus on creating a unique electrified platform with software at its core.
