The 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup is set to take place in Bangladesh, with the top 10 women’s cricket teams from around the world competing for the title. The tournament will feature two groups, with India and Pakistan in Group A alongside six-time winners Australia, New Zealand, and Qualifier 1. Group B consists of hosts Bangladesh, England, South Africa, the West Indies, and Qualifier 2.
The qualifiers for the tournament will emerge from the ongoing ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers in Abu Dhabi, UAE, with the top two teams making the final on May 7 securing the last two spots in the main event. The group matches will be held at different stadiums in Bangladesh; Group A matches at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet and Group B matches at Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, scheduled for May 17 and 18. The final match is set to be held at Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on October 20. The tournament kicks off with last edition’s runners-up South Africa facing England in the opening match on October 3rd, with India beginning their campaign against New Zealand on October 4th and facing Australia on October 13th.
A total of 23 matches will be played over the course of the 18-day tournament. This will be an exciting opportunity for these teams to showcase their skills and compete for this prestigious title.
