Recently, the investigation into the attempted murder of Joseph and Caronubelia Čube (37) in Skalice, Split was taken over by authorities. The shooting took place on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, around 3:50 p.m. in the neighborhood of Filip Zavadlav. The suspects in the case include Nenad Petrak (44), an alleged drug lord currently in a Split prison, as well as his associates Jerko Radić (45), Ante Varnica (43), and Jerkov nećak Alen Radić (22).

According to reports, Čuba was apprehended due to a traffic violation. The incident involved two unknown individuals who blocked the passage of a vehicle carrying five people on Domovinsko rata Street.
