On April 18, 2024, the Thursday prep sports lineup in Jonesboro, Ark. featured a highly anticipated baseball matchup on I-55. Gosnell emerged victorious over Rivercrest to claim the 3A-3 regular season title. Meanwhile, there were several exciting games on the K8 Sports HS Scoreboard, including Greene County Tech’s 13-0 victory over Riverside in softball, snapping the Lady Rebels’ long winning streak. Other softball matches saw Nettleton’s wins over Paragould, West Memphis’ 18-3 victory over Jonesboro, and many other teams facing off in competitive games.
In baseball action, Brookland defeated Greene County Tech 10-0, Melbourne beat Cave City 8-3, Marked Tree triumphed over Maynard 11-1, and many other teams faced off in competitive games. In softball, BIC secured wins against Rector and Pocahontas while Corning defeated Marmaduke and Piggott bested Manila. Other successful outings included Walnut Ridge’s wins against Tuckerman and Tupelo Christian Academy’s wins against Izard County and Yellville-Summit.
Additional softball results included Marion’s 6-0 win over Wynne and Izard County’s impressive 16-1 victory against Yellville-Summit. Salem also achieved a narrow 2-1 win over Melbourne while Cotter secured an impressive 8-1 victory over Calico Rock. McCrory had a commanding 17-0 win against Conway Christian as well as Gosnell achieving a shutout victory of Harrisburg in their game.
