Wendy’s Offers Free French Fries Every Friday for App Users, Followed by McDonald’s Launches Similar Promotion: A Battle of Fast Food Chains in the Digital Era

Wendy’s is offering a special deal to its fast-food lovers every Friday by giving them a free order of french fries. To redeem the offer, customers need to purchase something else along with the free fries. The company has stated that this promotion will continue throughout the year for customers who have the Wendy’s app and an account. The Ohio-based company is expanding its digital presence to enhance its business.

Customers can use this deal by placing a mobile order or loading it onto their card before scanning it at participating Wendy’s locations across America. As of 2023, there were over 6,000 Wendy’s locations in the U.S., and this number is expected to grow in the future. This move by Wendy’s aims to attract customers and enhance their digital capabilities in the highly competitive fast-food industry.

In response to Wendy’s promotion, McDonald’s also launched a similar promotion for its customers offering free medium fries for $1 in spending on its mobile app. This promotion was initially introduced in 2023 and has now been extended through 2024 as stated on McDonald’s website. Both companies are using these promotions to attract customers and improve their digital capabilities in the fast-paced industry of fast food.
