Piedmontese, a beef brand, has announced that its Lincoln warehouse was damaged during the tornadoes that hit the area on Friday. The director of operations, Nick Lahm, shared that he witnessed the tornado from a safe distance as it picked up vehicles and caused damage to the warehouse.
Despite following tornado protocol and being ready for such an event, Lahm and his team were still caught off guard by the proximity of the tornado to their location. Windows were blown out and common areas like the kitchen were affected. Fortunately, all workers had been moved to a brick office building for safety beforehand.
The priority for Lahm and his team was ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone present. One driver was out on routes but managed to return home safely. The warehouse lost power temporarily, prompting the team to relocate inventory to a refrigerated area until power was restored by Lincoln Electric Systems. Contractors and the USDA are currently working together to confirm the facility’s safety before workers can fully resume their duties.
The aftermath of the tornado has been challenging, but Piedmontese is determined to restore operations and continue serving its customers. Subscribe to 10/11 NOW for daily news updates and alerts delivered straight to your inbox. Copyright 2024 KOLN. All rights reserved.
