The Union-Endicott softball team has been on a roll, winning their 13th game with an extra-inning victory over Seton Catholic Central. This follows their previous extra-inning win over Binghamton. In the game against SCC, the Tigers were down 3-0 but rallied to tie the game with three runs in the fifth inning. They ultimately won 4-3 in the ninth, with Lisa Jones’ sacrifice fly scoring Lisa Lamey who had advanced to third on Michelle Wolf’s bunt for a single. The team’s collective batting average was .344 at that point, with Caren Osier leading the way with a .529 average.
In another STAC division matchup, Johnson City emerged victorious over Susquehanna Valley with a thrilling 6-5 win. The game was tight throughout, but Johnson City scored three runs in the sixth inning to take the lead. Tina Stanton started things off with a home run, followed by Lori Czeitner and Brenda Mott scoring later in the inning. Cris Charpinsky hit a two-out double to bring them home, securing Johnson City’s position as one of the top teams in the league.
