The ongoing feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake has been reignited on the hit song “Like That” by Future and Metro Boomin. In a guest verse, Lamar took aim at Drake, sparking what has become one of the biggest rap beefs in recent years.
J. Cole even recorded a diss track about Lamar, but later retracted it and apologized, something almost unheard of in the hip-hop world. The whole saga is detailed in the latest episode of the Rolling Stone Music Now podcast.
Drake responded to the drama with his own track, “Push Ups,” which was initially met with confusion about its authenticity. This led to Rick Ross releasing a brutal Drake diss track called “Champagne Moments,” recorded on the same day as the leak. It is expected that Lamar will respond soon with his own track.
In the podcast episode, Andre Gee and host Brian Hiatt delve into the origins of this rap beef and what may come next.
