Sustainable Cleansing at the Olympic Village: How Nine Social Businesses are Making a Difference

Nine social businesses have been awarded contracts worth EUR 1.6 million to provide cleaning and laundry services for the 24,000 residents of the Olympic and Paralympic Village. These companies are committed to promoting social and environmental sustainability in their operations.

The Aquatic Centre and La Chappelle Arena have 11,000 chairs made from sustainable materials developed as part of the Le Pavé project. This project, created by three young entrepreneurs, aims to transform plastic waste into innovative materials that can replace cement and virgin plastic. What began as a student project has now become a successful business that prioritizes sustainability and innovation.

Halage, an association dedicated to training individuals who are facing barriers to employment, is responsible for creating green spaces within the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Village. Their work aims to reintegrate nature into urban areas that have been affected by pollution, promoting sustainability and community engagement.

H.A.W.A AU FÉMININ, a company that provides training in fashion-related activities, has supported women facing life challenges in creating souvenirs from used textile materials from the Arena Porte de la Chapelle construction site. This initiative not only promotes creativity and skill development but also contributes to reducing waste and promoting sustainability in the construction industry.

In addition to these efforts, other social businesses working in the Olympic Village include Terr’aCycle, which collects recyclables from residents; Eco-Mobility France, which provides bike-sharing services; Les Jardins du Quartier des Vosges d’Orleans et Saint Denis de Paris, which creates community gardens; Green Solutions France, which provides consulting services for sustainable building design; Ecocabinette France, which offers eco-friendly home renovation services; Trendy Terraire France SASUOI BPCE SA CACO Océan France SA CACO Océan SA CACO Océan Finance SA CACO Océan Finance SA SCI CACO Océan Finance SA SCI CACO Océan Finance SA SCI CACO Océan Finance SA SCI CACO Océan Finance SA SCI CACO Océan Finance SA SCI CACO Océan Finance SA
