As a mother, Sue Loncar has always cherished memories of her daughter Grace. She describes her as a beautiful and precious child who was greatly desired by all those who knew her. Unfortunately, Loncar lost her daughter to suicide in 2016, and she still envisions Grace as a vibrant 16-year-old who would be 23 now.

Through the documentary ‘Losing Grace Finding Hope,’ Loncar is bravely sharing her story and emphasizing that depression does not discriminate and can affect anyone, regardless of outward appearances. She reflects on Grace’s life and the pain of losing her, recalling the day of her daughter’s passing vividly.

The film’s Writer/Producer/Director, Marica Carroll, stresses the importance of addressing the epidemic of suicide and breaking the stigma around discussing mental health. Through this project, Loncar and Carroll hope to provide solace and guidance to those struggling with the loss of a loved one to suicide. The documentary premiered at the Greenwich International Film Festival and is in contention for a $10,000 Social Impact Grant. It will also be shown at the Dallas International Film Festival at various times.
