Stephen Ames Successfully Defends Mitsubishi Title on 60th Birthday Bash

Stephen Ames celebrated his 60th birthday by winning the Mitsubishi Electric Classic, marking his eighth victory on the PGA Tour Champions. This win also made him the first multiple winner on the tour this year. Closing with a 5-under 67 on Sunday, Ames secured the title defense of his record third victory in the event with a total of 14-under 202 at TPC Sugarloaf.

During the final round, Ames started strong with an opening birdie on the par-4 first hole, then eagled the par-5 sixth and the par-4 13th. He also birdied the par-4 14th, but had bogeys on the par-4 15th and 17th holes. With a final birdie on the par-5 18th hole, he secured a four-stroke victory and successfully defended his title at the Mitsubishi Electric Classic.
