In preparation for National Small Business Week, U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell of Alabama’s 7th Congressional District embarked on a Small Business Tour to highlight the significance of small businesses to the local economy. During her tour, Rep. Sewell visited Travis Chicago Style, a popular food truck known for its delicious Polish sausage and bear burger. She also stopped by Alabama Goods, a retail store in Homewood specializing in locally made products, and Bearden Design, a boutique offering unique women’s clothing from around the world.
Rep. Sewell expressed admiration for the small businesses in Alabama’s 7th Congressional District, acknowledging their essential role in the community. She stressed that small businesses are vital to the country’s economy and pledged to support their growth. Rep. Sewell encouraged everyone to celebrate National Small Business Week by shopping local and supporting small businesses.
Earlier in the week, Rep. Sewell visited The Coffee Shoppe in Selma, which will receive the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 2024 Phoenix Award for Outstanding Disaster Recovery Efforts. She will be hosting a virtual discussion with owner Jackie Smith as part of her “Terri Talks” series, which will be live-streamed on her social media platforms.
