Recently, the Tamil Nadu Science Forum held a free lecture on the evolution of the universe based on the standard model theory. The guest speaker was Prafulla Kumar Behera, a physics professor from IIT-M, who discussed Peter W Higgs’ theoretical discovery and its impact on high energy physics and technological advancements in building accelerators like large hadron colliders and detectors like ATLAS. This event is part of the weekly science lectures organized by the forum, both online and offline.
In addition to this lecture, the science forum also published articles on various topics. One article discusses what aspiring lecturers can expect after the KSET 2024 results are announced. Another article covers the KSET results declared by KEA, including information on qualifying marks, eligibility certificates for Assistant Professor positions, and more. There is also an article on Vellore Institute of Technology’s MSc in Data Science, highlighting how the program bridges skill gaps, offers diverse career opportunities, and provides online upskilling with expert faculty.
Despite challenging weather conditions such as heatwaves in April, special events at Kolkata’s Science City and BITM attracted record footfall. BITM’s successful programs and student interest contributed to the increased visitors, while Science City’s AC galleries and the Voyager movie viewing experience were popular among crowds. This shows that despite difficult conditions people continue to be interested in science and education.
