To celebrate National Volunteer Week from April 19-25, New York Cares is offering over 200 volunteer opportunities for individuals to give back to their community. The organization is committed to engaging over one thousand volunteers to serve those in need across the five boroughs of New York City.
One of the recent volunteer activities organized by New York Cares was at PS 135 Sheldon A. Brookner in Brooklyn where they helped fifth-grade students with science experiments. Through these activities, the students were able to enhance their understanding of core science concepts and apply their knowledge to complete various projects such as creating solar-paneled racers and constructing erupting volcanoes.
These volunteer activities not only provide an opportunity for individuals to make a positive impact in their community but also support those who require assistance.
