In Moscow, an exhibition featuring Western tanks and military equipment seized by Russian forces in Ukraine was recently held. The Russian Ministry of Defense used the event to highlight that Western aid would not prevent them from achieving victory in the ongoing conflict.
During the Labor Day weekend, crowds gathered to view the exhibition titled “Spoils of the Russian Army,” which took place outside a museum commemorating the Soviet Union’s triumph over Nazi Germany in 1945. The Ministry pointed out that history is repeating itself, citing examples from the past where similar tactics had been employed.
The Ministry emphasized that Russia’s strength is demonstrated through its spoils of war, highlighting that capturing more equipment makes them more powerful. They expressed confidence in their ability to emerge victorious in what they labeled as a “special military operation” in Ukraine, dismissively stating that no amount of Western military aid would alter the situation on the battlefield.
The exhibition featured various tanks and armored vehicles from countries like America, Germany, France, Britain, Australia, Turkey, Sweden, Austria, Finland, South Africa, and Czech Republic. According to reports, the American M1 Abrams tank was a highlight of the show, having been captured by Russian forces in eastern Ukraine using advanced weaponry.
Critics from the West and Ukraine have raised doubts about Russia’s military equipment’s effectiveness, arguing that their gains have been primarily due to overwhelming numbers and heavy casualties. Despite official figures being unavailable for both sides’ losses during the conflict it is evident that they have suffered significant losses during this time.
