As the 2024 season approaches, the Texas Longhorns are filled with high expectations and a roster of elite talent. With key players like quarterback Quinn Ewers, left tackle Kelvin Banks, and several talented defensive linemen and edge rushers, they have one of the best rosters in the country. Despite substantial NFL losses, they are considered to be among the top teams alongside Ohio State, Georgia, Ole Miss, Alabama, and Oregon.
Recently released by CBS Sports is their list of the top 100 players in college football. Five Longhorns made it to the cut: Kelvin Banks at No. 10, Isaiah Bond at No. 14, and Quinn Ewers at No. 15. Ewers is recognized as one of the top returning quarterbacks in the nation and ranks fourth behind Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, Alabama’s Jalen Milroe, and Georgia’s Carson Beck.
The Longhorns’ roster is being closely watched as they transition into the SEC. Kelvin Banks showcased his talent at his spot on the list while Isaiah Bond follows him closely behind him at number 14th position in this year’s list. CJ Baxter also made it to top 100 along with Trey Moore who is expected to have a standout season in 2024 with a loaded offense supporting them all.
With such an impressive lineup of talented players on their roster, it’s clear that high expectations are set for Texas heading into next season – expectations that are well-founded considering their track record of success so far.
