Amarillo City Council Greenlights Development Agreements for Kids Inc Sports Complex

The Amarillo City Council recently approved three development agreements that will kickstart the construction of the Kids Inc sports complex in south Amarillo. The construction costs for infrastructure such as water, utilities, streets, and a parking lot will be initially covered by the partners involved. As tax collections increase from development in a designated zone at the intersection of Loop 335 and I-27, the partners will be reimbursed over time for their contributions.

The partners involved in this project include Attebury Elevators and Rockrose Development, who have invested $4.6 million in streets and utilities. Additionally, Attebury and Rockrose will be responsible for building a $3 million parking lot as part of the development agreements. Amarillo Economic Development Corporation has also contributed $7.5 million for streets and utilities to this initiative.

This collaborative effort aims to enhance sports and recreational opportunities in the Amarillo community. With the support of the partners and the city council’s approval, the construction of the Kids Inc sports complex is expected to move forward smoothly. Copyright 2024 KFDA. All rights reserved.
