North Augusta softball won the Region 4-AAAA title with a dominant 11-8 victory over Midland Valley in the series. The team had a 10-1 record in the region, continuing their streak of region championships. This success earned North Augusta a No. 1 seed and the opportunity to host their first playoff game on March 30th. Despite a lackluster offensive performance in the second game of the series, North Augusta rebounded in the final game, scoring 11 runs on 13 hits. Pitcher LeAnn Gilbert played a pivotal role in the victory, pitching 6.1 innings with six strikeouts and four walks.
After winning against Airport, North Augusta regained their momentum and secured the region championship against Midland Valley. The team’s offensive prowess has been evident throughout the season, exemplified by their consistent double-digit scoring outputs. The playoff bracket has yet to be released but North Augusta remains optimistic about their prospects for success this postseason season. They attribute their success this season to controlling what they can do as a team and supporting each other through vocal encouragement which has been driving force behind their success this season. With a strong foundation of teamwork and determination North Augusta is prepared for any challenge that may come up during playoffs
