Martinez’s sentiments were echoed by Super Bowl champion David Tyree, who expressed his belief that in a rapidly changing world of sports, people are seeking ways to interact with the games rather than just watch them.
Addabbo explained that the bill not only updates the regulatory environment for daily fantasy sports but also raises the age requirement for participation from 18 to 21. This change aims to close a loophole and align daily fantasy sports with mobile sports betting on a level playing field. Addabbo expressed his commitment to making the state a better place for residents by creating a safer and improved product.
Despite concerns about market saturation with the addition of more betting options like horse racing, casinos, and sports, Addabbo emphasized that daily fantasy sports operate on a separate track from mobile sports betting. He believes that expanding offerings will not interfere but enhance the overall betting experience.
