Ottawa Co. Announces Retirement of Deputy Health Officer and Appointment of Successor

Lisa Uganski, the Ottawa County Department of Public Health (OCDPH) in Michigan’s current Health Planning and Promotion Manager, will become the new Deputy Health Officer on June 3rd. This staffing change is set to take place at the end of May.

Uganski, who has been with OCDPH since 2000, started as a registered dietitian and health educator before moving into several positions within the department. She has expressed her excitement about this new opportunity and is dedicated to continuing the department’s efforts to improve the quality of life for Ottawa County residents.

Mansaray, who has been with OCDPH for nearly 20 years, will retire on May 31st, 2024. She began her career as a health promotion specialist in 2006 and held several positions within the department before becoming the Deputy Health Officer in 2020. Mansaray played a key role in leading the department and community through the COVID-19 pandemic, displaying wisdom, empathy, and grace throughout her tenure.

Health Officer Adeline Hambley praised Mansaray for her service and leadership, noting her contributions to improving public health in Ottawa County. Despite her retirement, Hambley is excited about Uganski taking on this new role and looks forward to seeing how she will continue to serve the community with knowledge, expertise, and passion.
