In a stunning turn of events, two Helena-based breweries have recently earned recognition at the World Beer Cup, raising the bar for craft beer in Montana. Copper Furrow Brewing and Lewis and Clark Brewing Company were among the 2,000 breweries that submitted over 9,000 beers to the prestigious competition.
Lewis and Clark Brewing Company was particularly successful, winning a gold award for Miner’s Gold Hefeweizen American wheat beer. This marks the second time that this beer has won gold at the World Beer Cup, making it one of the most award-winning wheat beers in history. Owner and president Max Pigman expressed his excitement and pride at this achievement, attributing their success to the quality and consistency of their product as well as the dedication of his team.
Copper Furrow Brewing also received recognition with a bronze award for its Tmavé international dark lager. This was a significant achievement for head brewer Nick Diehl who is responsible for creating this unique lager with its richness and slightly roasted taste. Diehl credits their win to their hard work and dedication to producing top-notch beers.
In addition to these two Helena breweries, two other Montana breweries – Sacred Brewing Company in Kalispell and MAP Brewing Company in Bozeman – also earned bronze awards at the competition. The full list of winners can be found online showcasing not only these four Montana breweries but also highlighting the diverse range of talent in the craft beer industry.
These achievements are a testament to the hard work, dedication, and creativity of all those involved in crafting these amazing beers. As Pigman said: “Our team works tirelessly every day to produce something special,” he said. “This award just confirms that our efforts are paying off.”
