In a recent development, Air Force has lost its second player from the 2023-24 roster to a new program, as sophomore starter Kellan Boylan announced his transfer to Lipscomb University. Boylan had been a key member of the Falcons’ lineup last season, starting 30 games and averaging 7.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. He had a standout performance against Wyoming, scoring 32 points on nine 3-pointers, and reached double figures in eight games, three times in Mountain West play.
Following Boylan’s announcement of his commitment to Lipscomb University based in Nashville, Tenn., which is part of the Atlantic Sun Conference and made its first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2018, it was revealed that sophomore Rytis Petraitis had also committed to California. This transfer comes after Petraitis led Air Force in various statistical categories during the 2023-24 season.
Boylan and Petraitis are the only two Falcons who have entered the transfer portal as per Academy rules, cadet athletes are eligible to transfer until the start of their junior years. Air Force’s 2023-24 campaign marked its worst full season since 2001, finishing with a record of 9-22. The Falcons ended up at the bottom of the Mountain West standings with a 2-16 conference record.
