Judd Trump advances to 10th World Snooker quarter-final despite lackluster performance at World Snooker Championship

Judd Trump cruised into the quarter-finals of the Crucible after beating Tom Ford in the second round of the World Snooker Championship. The 2019 champion had a commanding lead of 11-5 going into the final session and eventually won 13-7. He will now face either Jak Jones or Si Jiahui in the next round.

Despite scoring his 979th career century and finishing with a break of 84, Trump described his performance as “average” and mentioned that he struggled with the playing conditions on the Crucible table. He acknowledged that the table felt heavy but managed to stay patient and not be too hard on himself throughout the match.

Trump reflected on his performance, emphasizing the importance of taking a 6-2 lead in the first session and how that set the tone for the rest of the match. He felt confident once he established a lead and was able to capitalize on it. He also highlighted the importance of staying focused and not letting go of the lead once he had it.
