U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Ranking Member of the Senate Small Business Committee, has selected Hawkeye Molding of Story County as her Small Business of the Week. As part of her initiative to highlight a small business in each of Iowa’s 99 counties throughout this Congress, Senator Ernst is honoring the company for its leadership in plastic injection product manufacturing and its contributions to various industries such as agriculture and furniture manufacturing.

Founded in 1979 in Albia by Bob Russell and Mike Lawrence, Hawkeye Molding has been in operation for over 45 years. In 2021, Ryan Gruhn and Lana Leander acquired the company and have been headquartered in Roland ever since. Under their leadership, Hawkeye Molding has received recognition for its economic contributions to the community, including awards from the Ames Chamber of Commerce and Iowa Farm Bureau.

As she continues to honor small businesses across the state with her Small Business of the Week award, Senator Ernst commended Ryan and Lana’s dedication to keeping jobs in Iowa. She plans to continue showcasing the successes of small businesses across the state throughout this Congress.
