As the peak season of respiratory illnesses begins to subside, health officials are urging the public to remain vigilant. The Laredo Health Department is recommending that individuals continue to practice preventive care by staying up-to-date with vaccines. Currently, the city has reported over 500 cases of flu, despite a decrease in infection and illness levels.
Jaime Perez from Laredo Health emphasizes the importance of getting vaccinated to avoid getting sick. The RSV vaccine, which is available for children aged 0 to 24 months, will be available until the end of the month for a $10 administration fee. Additionally, the flu vaccine will be available until June 30 for both adults and children.
