Bullpen of Sea Dogs struggles once more in third consecutive defeat

The Portland Sea Dogs initially took a 4-1 lead against the Hartford Yard Goats in an Eastern League matchup in Hartford, Connecticut. However, the Yard Goats staged an impressive comeback, rallying from the deficit to win 12-5. This marked the third straight game in which the Yard Goats came from behind to secure a victory.

Nick Yorke played a crucial role in the Sea Dogs’ offense, going 2 for 4 and scoring twice. Sterlin Thompson had a standout performance for the Yard Goats, going 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and three RBI. His performance helped propel the team ahead of Portland in the Northeast Division standings.

Pitcher Wikelman Gonzalez had a solid performance for Portland, striking out eight batters and allowing only one hit through five innings. However, the Sea Dogs’ bullpen struggled to maintain the lead, ultimately leading to their defeat.

The Sea Dogs will look to bounce back as they begin a six-game homestand against the Reading Fightin Phils on Tuesday.
