Doha’s Hamad International Airport has been named the world’s best airport for the third year in a row, according to the Skytrax World Airport Awards. This year, Singapore Changi was edged out of the top spot by its Middle Eastern rival in the annual rankings. Seoul Incheon came in third place and also won the title of 2024’s most family-friendly airport, while Tokyo’s Haneda and Narita airports claimed the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.
Hong Kong airport made a significant jump, rising 22 positions to 11th place as passenger numbers increased following the Covid-19 pandemic. US airports once again failed to make it near the top of the table, with Seattle-Tacoma being the highest-ranked airport at 24th place, slipping six spots. European airports continued to perform well, with Paris Charles de Gaulle, Munich, Zurich, and Istanbul maintaining their positions in the top 10.
In other notable movements in the rankings, New York’s JFK fell to 93rd place, while LaGuardia rose to 33rd. Melbourne remained the top-ranked Australian airport at 19th place
