In 2023, the most popular baby names in Wyoming have been revealed. For girls, Evelyn was the top choice, while Henry took the title for boys. This information was shared by Vital Statistics Services (VSS), which is part of the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH).
According to Kyndra Herrera, VSS deputy state registrar at WDH, there were some changes in the top names this year. Parents choose names that reflect their personal preferences and influences, such as family names or pop culture references.
In 2023, there were 5,989 births among Wyoming residents, a slight decrease from the previous year. Despite this trend, there were more births than deaths among residents in 2023. It’s worth noting that many mothers choose to deliver their babies outside of the state for various reasons.
The month with the most resident births was August, with 553 births, while February had the fewest with 449. The VSS plays an important role in promoting and protecting the health of Wyoming residents by managing all vital records in the state and providing health information and reports. More details about obtaining official records, state statistics, and the VSS program can be found on the Wyoming Department of Health website.
