GIDARA Energy’s innovative HTW® technology has been selected by Aker Solutions (AKSO) to be part of a feasibility study for the Equinor Mongstad Industrial Transformation (MIT) project. The aim of this ambitious project is to convert solid waste and RDF into sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), reducing waste and CO2 emissions, and combatting climate change.
The collaboration will showcase GIDARA’s in-house HTW® Gasification unit, which converts solid waste feedstock into clean syngas. This process involves pre-treating waste through drying and storing, as well as cleaning and treating the raw syngas. The resulting clean syngas can then be used to create SAF through either a Fischer-Tropsch process or a methanol/ethanol-to-jet process.
