Although physical disability appeared to reduce the risk of being in the high or moderate-risk group for illnesses like cardiovascular disease or diabetes, other factors like long-term illnesses and losing a loved one increased health risks significantly.

Those who experienced severe stress had a higher probability of being in the high-risk group for diseases like heart disease or stroke. Interestingly enough, genetic factors did not appear to influence how the body responds to stress.

Therefore, addressing and managing stress – especially financial worries – is essential for maintaining overall health and well-being.
