New Program Debuted at the Science Center in Phoenix

The Arizona Science Center is introducing a new series for adults called Spotlight on Science. This series aims to bring experts from various fields of science together for an evening of discussion and education on topics that have a significant impact on society. The first event in this new series will focus on “Breakthroughs in Blood Biomarkers–Revolutionizing Alzheimer’s Disease Diagnosis” with Nicholas Ashton, PH. D, an expert in Alzheimer’s disease.

Ashton, the Banner Research Biomarker Program senior director, will discuss the possibility of using a blood test to detect Alzheimer’s at the event, which will take place at the Science Center located downtown at 600 E. Washington St on Tuesday, May 14 starting at 7 p.m. A VIP reception for ticket holders will also begin at 5:30 p.m.

Ashton will share his work as a leader in the development, validation, and application of fluid biomarkers, including cerebrospinal fluid and blood tests, in the fight against Alzheimer’s and related disorders. Ticket options for this event range from a VIP experience for $75 to general admission for $40 and student tickets for $20.
