On Tuesday, the Parkchester Library in the Bronx was buzzing with book lovers for World Book Day. Marissa Morales, a passionate reader and writer from the Bronx, shared her love for books with fellow enthusiasts at the library.

Morales, who wrote her first book in first grade, also hosts a monthly book club at the library. To celebrate World Book Day, she organized a writing workshop to help inspire others who dream of telling their own stories. Morales emphasized the importance of books as a way to explore different perspectives, cultures, and places. She believes that everyone has a unique voice that deserves to be heard through the power of storytelling.

Morales hopes that the Bronx community will take advantage of the resources available at the city’s libraries, especially on World Book Day. She encourages residents to immerse themselves in the diverse collection of books and programs that can be found at their local library. By sharing her passion for books, Morales aims to inspire others to discover the joy of reading and writing.
