The Dallas Cowboys have reportedly invited free agent wide receiver Tyron Billy-Johnson for a physical examination, according to a report by Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News. Billy-Johnson has spent the past season on the Cowboys’ practice squad but did not see any action in a regular-season game.
At 28 years old, Billy-Johnson has had an extensive career in the NFL, playing for several teams including the Texans, Bills, Panthers, Chargers, Jaguars, Raiders, Bengals, 49ers and Cowboys since 2019. Throughout his career, he has played in 26 games with one start which was with the Houston Texans in 2022. During his time on the field, Billy-Johnson has recorded an impressive average of 18.3 yards per catch with 23 receptions for 422 yards and three touchdowns.
Billy-Johnson is also known for his versatility and contributions to special teams as he has returned 14 punts with an average of 19.1 yards per return. If he signs with the Cowboys, he could bring a valuable set of skills to their roster for the upcoming season.
