Cathay Pacific, a five-star airline based in Hong Kong, may have a strict BYOC policy, as they recently surveyed passengers in their Cathay Lab community to see if they would be willing to bring their own cutlery set onboard the aircraft. Italian Aerospace company Optimares recently introduced the “SoFab,” a seat that offers extra space compared to traditional business class seats, with an ottoman and leg rest that can be released to create a bed. The SoFab measures 40 inches wide and 78 inches long, similar to a twin bed, providing more comfort for passengers on long flights.
While the SoFab seats have not been introduced on any aircraft yet, they represent an innovation in aircraft seating that could improve the overall flying experience for passengers.
