Despite this, the company will be hosting several global events to celebrate Warcraft’s 30th anniversary and will participate in other industry conventions such as Gamescom. They have reassured fans that they plan to bring back BlizzCon in future years.
BlizzCon is an annual event where Blizzard announces news about their new projects and brings together their community of players. The decision to cancel this year’s event was not taken lightly, as stated in a message on their website. Blizzard emphasized that BlizzCon is a special event and they will be back in the future.
The company also shared that they will release more details about their upcoming video games, including World of Warcraft: The War Within and the first expansion of Diablo IV, Vessel of Hatred. While BlizzCon is canceled, Blizzard will be participating in other industry events and conventions, as well as organizing global events throughout 2024 to celebrate Warcraft’s anniversary.
Blizzard mentioned that these events may be different from BlizzCon but they will still have the same spirit of celebration and community.
