Bartlesville High Baseball Wraps Up District Season With Impressive Victory
Bartlesville High School baseball concluded its District season with a stunning two-game sweep over Muskogee on Tuesday night at Rigdon Field. The team’s impressive performance left the senior players with a memorable night to cherish, as they secured a seventh-place finish in 6A-District 3.
The Bruins took control of the game early, scoring three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to lead Muskogee 3-0. The runs came courtesy of a string of six consecutive batters reaching base, five of whom did so through singles. Brett Eaves’ base hit drove in Brenden Asher to kickstart the scoring, with help from a Muskogee error.
Asher delivered an outstanding pitching performance in his final appearance at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium as a Bruin. He pitched seven innings, allowing only one unearned run while working around seven hits. Asher struck out five of the seven batters he faced in the last two innings, including a crucial strikeout that ended the game and sealed Bartlesville’s victory over Muskogee.
With the District season now complete, Bartlesville will eagerly anticipate its Regional pairing as they prepare for the postseason. The playoffs are expected to begin next week on either Wednesday or Thursday, providing the team with an opportunity to continue their successful momentum and make it even further into tournament play.
