The Major League Soccer team, Austin FC, is currently in the final stages of negotiations to host the 2025 Major League Soccer Game at Q2 Stadium. The team is in advanced talks with MLS and is close to finalizing legal contracts for the event, which is expected to take place next summer.
Austin FC, an expansion team founded in 2018, began playing in the 2021 season and became the first major professional sports team in the Texas capital. Unlike traditional North American all-star games, the MLS All-Star Game features the best of MLS competing against select players from an international club or another league.
In 2022, Austin FC made it to the Western Conference Final but was defeated by LAFC with a score of 3-0. Q2 Stadium, where the 2025 MLS Game is expected to be hosted, has a seating capacity of 20,738. Meanwhile, in July 24th of next year, Columbus Crew will host the MLS All Stars against superstars of Liga MX at Lower.com Field as reported by ESPN on Monday.
