Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud met in Riyadh today to discuss regional issues. Mirzoyan provided an update on the progress of negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, including the latest developments on a draft peace treaty and Armenia’s stance on key issues. He emphasized the importance of increasing logistics interdependence for economic benefits and stability, highlighting the “Crossroads of Peace” program launched by the Armenian government.
The two foreign ministers also discussed ways to enhance political dialogue and partnership between Armenia and Arab countries, including participation in the Arab League ministerial meeting. They explored potential cooperation in various sectors such as trade, economy, tourism, education, information technology, as well as in protecting cultural values. Additionally, they discussed collaboration within international organizations and multilateral platforms, including the possibility of partnering for the “World Expo 2030”.
This was the first high-level visit from Armenia to Saudi Arabia since diplomatic relations were established in November 2023. The discussions between Mirzoyan and bin Farhan Al Saud covered a wide range of topics aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and exploring avenues for cooperation in various sectors.
