Doctoral Student from the College of Education and Health Professions Selected for Grosvenor Fellowship

Jessica Culver, a doctoral student in the College of Education and Health Professions Adult and Lifelong Learning program, has been chosen to participate in the 2024 Grosvenor Teacher Fellowship program. This initiative is a partnership between National Geographic and Lindblad Expeditions and includes a cohort of 35 members.

As an experienced educator with 21 years of service in Arkansas public schools, Culver teaches high school civics/economics and concurrent college credit history courses in the Ozark School District. She is passionate about education and committed to professional growth, which is why she applied for the Grosvenor Teacher Fellowship.

Culver’s expedition will begin on June 2 aboard the National Geographic Quest in Sitka, Alaska. From there, she will continue on the “Exploring Alaska’s Coastal Wilderness” Lindblad expedition until June 16th. During her journey, Culver will gain hands-on experience that she can bring back to her classroom to educate the next generation of “planetary stewards.”

Culver expressed her gratitude for this opportunity and stated her excitement at being selected for this fellowship. She believes that this experience will help her grow as a global educator and share this knowledge with her students.
