A Face in the Crowd, a stage adaptation of the 1957 film, is set to have its world premiere at London’s Young Vic Theatre. The show will feature Ramin Karimloo and Anoushka Lucas in the lead roles. The musical has been under development for several years, with a reading held in New York in 2016. Costello has been performing songs from the score since 2015. The show’s lighting design is by Jackie Shemesh, music supervision by Phil Bateman, sound design by Emma Laxton, and choreography by Lizzi Gee. Casting was done by Heather Basten.
The story follows a radio producer who gives a jailed drifter a chance on the airwaves, only to realize that it comes with unexpected consequences.
