In late April, a zebra escaped from a vehicle on a highway in Washington state, sparking an intense search for the animal. The transport carrying four zebras was traveling from Winlock, Washington, to Anaconda, Montana, when the driver stopped along the highway to troubleshoot a problem with his trailer. Three of the four zebras were captured within the next few hours and were able to continue their journey aboard the transport. However, the fourth zebra, named Shug, headed into the wilderness and hid there for days. On Friday evening, after six days of searching for Shug, local animal rescue services decided to capture him with help from volunteers.
