In recent news, the IDF has been targeted by hackers who have obtained parts of Power Point presentations, including those with logos from the General Staff’s wings. The authenticity of these documents is uncertain, and security officials estimate that the chance of a breach is low to zero. It is possible that this attack was a form of “psychological warfare” by the hackers.
Meanwhile, Anonymous has claimed to have breached the Ministry of Justice and obtained 8 million data files totaling 300 gigabytes, including personal details of those on the lists. This attack comes amidst increasing hostility towards Israel and its online presence, and some of the hackers from Anonymous have threatened to continue “destroying the Zionists.”
As a result, the National Cyber System has warned against an expected wave of attacks in the wake of Ramadan and advised the public to refrain from clicking on suspicious links and report any suspected attacks. The fear is that these attacks may include website hacks, digital system breaches, leakage of classified information, distribution of surveillance software, and more.
