On Earth Day, Ecolibrium3 hosted a Business Sustainability Luncheon in Duluth, highlighting the importance of sustainability in businesses. The event, held at Clyde Iron Works, featured a presentation on how industries such as steel, iron, concrete, and transportation can decarbonize and become more environmentally friendly. Jodi Slick, CEO of Ecolibrium3, emphasized the potential for Northeast Minnesota to play a key role in addressing greenhouse gas emissions and fostering economic development in the region.
During the luncheon, WLSSD was awarded the first annual Eco Award for their sustainability efforts. Marianne Bohren, the Executive Director of WLSSD, expressed gratitude for the recognition and highlighted the organization’s role as a resource recovery facility rather than just a solid waste management facility. She emphasized the community benefits that can arise from innovative approaches to waste management.
